Thereās no such thing as bad weather right, just a bad choice of clothing - so we headed down west for a little day out by the seaside. I love Penzance, itās where lots of my family have called home and it holds such special memories, so a walk across the prom is always lovely even in awful weather.
A little reminder that not every day out needs to be a big adventure, sometimes a grey day at the seaside is enough āØ

Whether weāre visiting somewhere new in the van or exploring closer to home, itās the way we start every morning, but this time the view was just a little bit more special than usual.
Waking up to views of the Cairngorm mountain range was such a special way to start the day. An incredible backdrop for a simple morning ritual.

Dramatic coastlines, castle ruins and epic ice cream - itās day 5 of our Scottish adventureĀ ...Dramatic coastlines, castle ruins and epic ice cream - itās day 5 of our Scottish adventure.
After waking up at our favourite park up so far, the wonderful Rosehearty Community Boat Club, we reached the half way point of our trip, and it was time to give the van a good tidy, emptying the grey waste and the loo too. Always such a glamourous vanlife chore!
We then headed west - stopping first to wrangle 2 sheep back into their field - more of which youāll be able to see in our YouTube video coming soon. We glimpsed Crovie from the viewpoint then headed down in Gardenstown for a much needed coffee and walk around the harbour. We then took the short walk around the bay to Crovie to explore this small and remote, cliff-foot village.
An impromtu stop at @portsoyicecream for an incredible sundae followed, before continuing on to explore the Findlater Doocot and the remains of the dramatic Findlater Castle.
Located in a field near the dramatic ruins of Findlater Castle, Findlater Doocot is a distinctive beehive-shaped dovecote design ensured efficient shelter and breeding conditions for around 700 pigeons. Follow the path further and you reach the impressive remains of the castle, perched dramatically atop a 50-foot-high cliff overlooking the Moray Firth.
After an unsuccessful attempt to stay at the Cullen motorhome site (we hadnāt realised you could book in advance and it was fully booked), we drove on to finish our trio of stops at Bow Fiddle Rock.
We then headed to the first campsite of our trip, Spey Bay Golf Club, before setting in for an evening of pasta, pool and a pint.
Make sure you join us for day 6 of our trip as we follow the River Spey down into the Cairngorms, and head to the mountains.

Join us for our road trip as we travel the NE 250 in our Peugeot Boxer. Day 2 started with waking up to views of the Kelpies as the sun rose over the car park. We couldnāt resist another walk down to see them in the daylight and to grab a coffee to start the day. It was then time to hit the road, and head to the start of the NE250 route in Aberdeen. First stop was Books and Beans for coffee and cake, before walking down to the beach front in search of Fittie - the quaint former fishing village with an eccentric mix of cottages and quirky outbuildings. Our second park up of the trip was the Cock and Bull in Balmedie, just outside of Aberdeen. We found this spot on Park4Night and it was free to stop over if you ate at the pub. The food was delicious - possibly the best scampi I think Iāve ever eaten, and the team were so friendly and helpful. We ended the night chilling in the van with YouTube video and all the cosy lighting. Be sure to follow along for our adventures as we travel the NE 250. @Passenger #myescapism #roamerscollective #ExploreScotland #NE250 #vanlifetravel
