Glencoe almost makes you feel small, like the mountains could swallow you whole - but in the most comforting and grounding way. Not much tops waking up and seeing those crystal waters, eerie peaks, and that feeling of being gently humbled by nature.
Ngl was worried initially Iβd get too cold but my Sherpa blanket from @passengerclothing kept me toasty βΊοΈ

Spent the day just wandering, no rush, no plans. I didnβt even plan to go to Glencoe really, just a βwherever the road takes meβ kind of day π Itβs been a while since Iβve taken myself on an adventure like this, and I didnβt realise how much I needed it.
This time last year, if youβd told me Iβd be doing things alone - actually enjoying my own company - I wouldβve laughed (and probably cried). I wouldnβt have believed you. Back then, anxiety had such a grip on me that the idea of going anywhere by myself felt impossible. But since March, when I somehow ended up going to Skye alone, things have slowly started to shift. That trip changed something in me. It made me see that Iβm capable, that I can trust myself, and that Iβm okay on my own. Now I think I even prefer my own company.
The last few weeks have been tough - my mental healthβs dipped a bit, and Iβve felt disconnected. But today was a gentle reminder of what keeps me grounded: being outdoors, surrounded by nature, and giving myself space to just exist.
Iβm learning that Iβll always find my way back to myself no matter what happens, Iβll be okay. And that feels like something worth holding on to π₯°π€β¨No matter what happens, I trust and know thatβll Iβll make a beautiful life for myself ππ²πβ°οΈπ

If youβre a lover of waterfalls, forest walks and hillwalking, this is the walk for you.
Mill Glen is a stunning, steep-sided gorge tucked beneath the Ochil Hills, with a trail that follows the Tillicoultry Burn through a mix of woodland, waterfalls, and rocky outcrops. The walk starts at the end of Upper Mill Street, where you can park on the roadside near the old mill flats. From here, the path leads you into the forest, winding across a series of bridges, wooden boardwalks, and raised platforms that cling to the gorge walls. The route is easy to follow, with a steady incline made up of well-built steps and a short section where the path has eroded, requiring a small scramble over rocks.
The trail is around 1.5 mile long with a slight elevation gain and takes less than an hour to complete at a relaxed pace. The sound of running water accompanies you for most of the journey, with several small waterfalls tumbling through the gorge. As you climb, the views open up, and near the end, you have the option to continue upwards toward Ben Cleuch or Law Hill for a hillwalk of sweeping views over the Forth Valley. I honestly think this walk would be beautiful in autumn, with the colours adding to the drama of the gorge.
This walk is nestled between Dollar Glen and Alva Glen if you wish to visit more than one in the day. We visited the Lions Mane waterfall at Alva Glen afterwards - one of my favourite hidden spots

Situated high up between densely forested mountains lies this stunning 6.5mile circular waterfall hike down to a secluded lagoon ποΈ This walk features some incredible views on route, including that of the Ribeira da Janela valley and takes you alongside one of the islands many levadas (irrigation channels/aqueducts unique to the island of Madeira). The PR6 is very well signposted making it easy to follow, and is mostly made up of stone steps. At times youβre navigating your way through overgrown laurel trees, over tree roots, and often on the narrow levada edges due to some areas being only wide enough to fit one person at a time, so take care when visiting with small children or in wet weather. The trail runs almost parallel alongside the PR6.1 trail also which offers visitors the add-on a visit to one of the tallest waterfalls in Madeira, Levada do Risco. This was such a beautiful hike and took us approximately 3 hours to complete at a leisurely pace. It costs β¬3 to do (payable online via SIMplifica portal or at designated payment stations) and is best visited early morning to beat the crowds. I forgot how much of a little beauty this hill is - especially at golden hour. The golden haze over the hills on the horizon and reflecting over the three lochs hit just right.

Headed down to one of my favourite lochside spots tonight to watch the sunset and journal. I originally planned to go a hike tonight for sunset but settled for a quiet night being in the present. Something as little as this actually brings me so much peace.
I had the place to myself so I put on some rose quartz crystal sounds and I think the bats loved the reiki as two continued to fly laps around me for nearly an hour whilst I made tea and wrote ππβ¨

How has this month been for you guys?
Iβve found April to be a bit of a rollarcoaster personally; itβs been kind, itβs been difficult, itβs given me time with friends and family, but also brought some sad news and loss. Itβs been rich in laughter and travels despite being unwell for 99% of it. I donβt know really, itβs all just been a bitβ¦ mad.
The highlights for me were ticking off my first Munro of the year, & the first paddleboard meet of the season. Iβm grateful to have gone on a road trip to the isles with my mum for quality mother-daughter time, and of course becoming part of the βRoamers Collectiveβ with @passengerclothing ; a brand I am so passionate about.
