It been a while since I took myself for a long solo hike, there were points of this route where I seriously thought about turning back. The trail was steeper than my current fitness levels could accept, my knees were screaming, and being alone out there made every sound feel louder, every step feel heavier. I was pounded by wind the entire time, but I laughed back at it, I tripped on endless occasions.
But something in me kept going. I powered through the 11 miles.
Step by step, I pushed through. No one to lean on, no one to motivate me—just me and that quiet voice inside saying, “you’ve got this.”
I did however, meet some incredibly friendly people on this route and reaching the top wasn’t just about the view (though, wow). It was a reminder of what I’m capable of. That I can do hard things. That I can trust myself, even when it’s tough. Especially when it’s tough.
Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it. Life begins at the end of your comfort zone ⛰️

No plan, no expectations just a curious turn of the main road. That’s how I stumbled across this little gem of natures own infinity pool.
A moment of pure serenity, surrounded by nothing but the sound of rushing water and birdsong.

Ruins the fun? NEVER! This trail had me feeling knightly as I wandered through the walls of what was once Castell Dinas Bran, The Crows Fortress 🐦⬛
It’s a steep climb but this Welsh built 13th century stone castle is one of the few surviving. The air was filled with a mystery, truly beautiful to explore and take in the incredible panoramic views of Clwydian Range and Dee Valley.
